Manager Community Wellbeing

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the City of Greater Bendigo’s Community Wellbeing unit in the management and delivery of integrated policy, planning, programs, services and infrastructure improvement for children and older adults living across the City. Delegated services include Home Support, Child Care, Maternal and Child Health, Immunisation and Policy and planning for early years and older adults.

The Manager Community Wellbeing is responsible for the management of a large team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff committed to making a difference in the lives of children and families, frail older people and their carers. A significant component of the role over the next few years will be to work with Council and staff in responding to a rapidly changing external policy environment in both the community based aged and early year’s sectors.

Substantial knowledge and experience in the health and/or community services sector is required, along with a demonstrated high level of managerial experience.

The successful applicant will have the ability to be innovative, strategic, build programs and deliver effective services and support in a demanding environment with conflicting demands. Outstanding interpersonal skills and sound financial management experience are essential to this role.
