Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator

Location: Parramatta (preferred), also open to considering having the preferred candidate based in our Hunter Hub, Nepean Dam, Albury, Dubbo or Tamworth offices

What you’ll do: 

  • Collaborate with business SMEs developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace health and safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant legislation and standards
  • Maintaining accurate records related to health and safety, including incident reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to WHS legislations and requirements
  • Working closely with leaders, SMEs and employees to address health and safety concerns and promote continuous improvement in safety performance by ensuring implementation of improvement initiatives identified through improvement programs and audits 
  • Promoting a positive safety culture within the organisation by coordinating safety communications and initiatives 
  • Supporting the safety teams with the reporting and documenting of workplace incidents, accidents, injuries, or near misses, and completion of risk assessments and hazard identification 

What we are looking for: 

  • WHS tertiary qualification (i.e. Cert III or Cert IV) or equivalent
  • Knowledge and awareness of WHS legislation, codes of practice, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of safety management systems and assurance, risk assessment and hazard management practices in an operational environment
  • Well-developed communications and stakeholder engagement skills with a passion for learning and delivering business outcomes
  • Good to Have: Experience working in a Workplace Health and Safety capacity as Coordinator or Administrator; and/or driving continuous improvement WHS initiatives and project delivery
