Changes to diving and snorkelling industry safety requirements open for comment
Following consultation with the dive and snorkelling industry, the Queensland Government is proposing to adopt 12 recommendations made by the Recreational Dive and Snorkelling Industry Reference Group established by the Minister for Education and Industrial Relations, Cameron Dick.
The recommendations, if adopted, would require amendments to the Safety in Recreational Water Activities Act 2011 and Recreational Diving, Recreational Technical Diving and Snorkelling Code of Practice 2011.
The proposed changes are now open for public comment until 31 March 2012. Individuals and organisations are encouraged to have their say about the proposed recommendations for the recreational dive and snorkelling industry.
The proposed changes can be viewed in the Recreational Dive and Snorkelling Industry Reference Group Report to Minister (PDF, 267 kB).
