The federal insurer Comcare has issued guidance on a COVID-safe transition back to work.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease across Australia, Comcare says it wants to help employers support workers as they return to their usual workplaces.

“Employers must follow local conditions and the relevant state and territory restrictions as part of their transition planning,” Comcare says.

“The plan should be tailored to meet relevant industry or geographic circumstances and respond to changing COVID-19 risks as restrictions change over time.”

The authority says workplace transition plans should also consider the following:

  • Risk management in an evolving environment
  • Worker mental health and wellbeing.
  • Maintaining a COVID-safe workplace
  • Transitional arrangements for workers based on individual circumstances

Comcare has also released a list of resources for further COVID-19 information and restriction updates.
