The transport, construction and mining sectors are again high on the tally of most fatal environments in which to work.
The transport, postal and warehousing industry recorded the highest number of fatalities, with 20 people killed in 2015.
Agriculture, forestry and fishing workplaces recorded 15 fatalities, the construction industry saw 9 deaths, and a total of 8 miners were killed on the job.
Of the 15 agriculture workers killed, Safe Work Australia says nine were the result of quad bike accidents.
The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012 - 2022 identifies agriculture, road transport and construction as priority industries for action.
There is some concern around conditions in the mining industry, where 8 workers have been killed this year. The number is approaching the 10 fatalities recorded in the whole of 2014, which was higher than the 6 workers killed in 2013.
Safe Work Australia reports lower numbers for fatalities in other industries; administrative & support services (3), electricity, gas, water & waste services (3) and other services (3).
