Driverless pilot lined up
The Queensland University of Technology and the Queensland Government are joining forces to get driverless cars on the road.
QLD Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey says the government will set up a pilot program with QUT to find ways of integrating “connected and automated vehicles” on the road network.
“The department is currently negotiating a joint agreement with Bosch and QUT's Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety to test cooperative and highly-automated vehicles on our roads,” Mr Bailey told parliament.
QUT's Professor Jonathan Roberts has written on self-driving cars mixed with aggressive drivers.
