The WA Department of Mines and Petroleum has put out a series of videos to help mine workers recognise workplace hazards.

The new video series is aimed at helping supervisors and workers across the resources industry spot the common hazards that can easily injure or kill.

The videos are available for free for use in educational setting.

The first three in the series come under the theme ‘Raising The Issue’; focusing on key areas of concern when rigging, dogging and lifting.

The films identify big risks including shifting centre of gravity, friction and tensile strength.
