The short yet highly informative videos provide clear and useful advice in through anecdotes and graphics. ATSB Chief Commissioner Martin Dolan has said the series will cover rail, aviation and maritime safety issues.
The launch of the YouTube channel coincide with the announcement that the Canadian Transportation Safety Board of is coming over to conduct an independent review of the ATSB’s investigation processes, beginning with a visit by the TSB team this month. The TSB review aims to provide an independent and objective assessment of investigation methodology, as well as compare processes between Australia, Canada and international standards.
Mr Dolan said: “The review will identify best practices from both organisations that we can adopt to improve how we investigate accidents and occurrences and improve transport safety.”
A report is expected in 2014. The ATSB's YouTube channel is available here.
