SafeWork has serious field day
SafeWork NSW is taking farm safety to the field.
The authorities will be at the Australian National Field Days from 22 – 24 October to promote greater awareness about the importance of farm safety.
“The NSW agricultural industry is one of the state’s highest risk industries, so it is important to provide practical information on the risks and safety issues associated with working on farms,” SafeWork NSW Orange District Coordinator, David Young said.
“Farm safety is a priority as many farm roles involve working in remote or isolated areas away from emergency assistance and first aid. The Australian National Fields Days is a great opportunity to speak with farmers and raise awareness of farm safety.
“SafeWork NSW is working with farmers across the state to improve the health and safety on farms right now and for the next generation of farmers.
“Our team of experts will be on-hand to offer advice on farm safety practices and provide practical safety solutions to reduce the risk of injuries on farms.”
SafeWork will be at the Field Days to talk to farmers and farm workers on a variety of health and safety issues including, how to improve health and safety on farms, how to reduce risks and hazards, chemical safety, vehicle selection, quad bike safety and livestock handling.
