Head of Environment

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, and with scope across our group of farm, feedlot, processing and corporate facilities, this is your opportunity to make an impact and drive the environmental programs and outcomes for our business. 

As a technical expert, you will be called on to provide authoritative advice to senior business stakeholders on all environmental matters including opportunities for improvements, targets, compliance, incident response and best practice. You will also lead an Environmental Advisor (to be recruited) and a passionate team responsible for maintaining our farm and grounds.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage all environmental functions across Bindaree Food Group
  • Ensure regulatory, legislative and customer environmental expectations are met
  • Develop, implement and monitor our Environmental Management System
  • Continually pursue improvements in the efficiency of utility usage including energy, waste management and water
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of environmental monitoring data
  • Leading projects and engaging with external consultants as needed
  • Participating actively in driving initiatives as a key member of our Sustainability Committee.

The role may be based at our Inverell, Brisbane or Burleigh Heads site and will be expected to travel regularly to all sites.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • You have proven experience in a similar Environmental leadership position, ideally within a multi-site manufacturing or heavy industry organisation;
  • You are a technical expert, supported with tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Science or similar;
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills including experience with formal report writing;
  • You love data and have a high level of data literacy including experience collecting environmental data from the source and providing meaningful analysis;
  • You nurture and build positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve results
