Safety Facilitator

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety Facilitator to join our Operations Team. Reporting to the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, the Safety Facilitator’s purpose is to drive a ‘Safety First’ culture through supporting the development of safety and health initiatives.
The role will provide support and coaching advice to the sites and business leadership teams in all health and safety related matters. In conjunction with the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will support the roll out and compliance of safety initiatives within Bulla.
This role will oversee our Derrimut operations in Melbourne, Victoria.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure Bulla is a Safe workplace by promoting a safety-first culture
- Provide advice and support to build line manager safety competence
- Drive safety on site with the delivery and understanding of toolbox meetings and safety alerts
- Assist with operational tasks including incident investigations and risk assessments
- Assist with the investigation of any issues identified as a result of audits and day-to-day operational activities
- Provide OH&S support and assistance to develop and maintain traffic management plans, manual handling documentation and ergonomic assessment.
- Ensure chemicals have been risk assessed and updated in ChemWatch
- Support site with Contractor Management activities
- Facilitate, review and manage risk assessments in relation to business operations
- Assist and promote hazard identification and identify risk control measures to minimise injury and property damage
- Ensure all incidents investigations are conducted and documented in a timely manner
You will have:
- 3+ years in a similar role
- FMCG Logistics and Warehousing experience preferred
- Cert IV in OHS or similar preferred
- General understanding of Victorian OHS
- Highly proactive, well developed project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong motivational skills with the capacity to positively influence people independently or through teamwork
- Ability to prepare detailed and practical meeting notes and reports
- High level of competency in computer-based communication and information management tools and database systems
- ICAM Trained preferred
