About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced WHS and Wellbeing Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this part-time role (3 days a week), you will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace across our organisation. This role requires some travel across our Sydney sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program to promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents, analysing root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Create and maintain safety plans, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive safety culture across the organization, engaging staff at all levels.
- Provide expertise in workers' compensation processes, including case management and injury prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with management and staff to identify and address psychosocial risks in the workplace.
- Deliver training and resources to enhance staff understanding of health and safety practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for someone who can advocate for safety within SASH and bring a commercial understanding to the management of workplace health and safety. You will have a keen understanding of how to add value to our team members with a flexible and proactive approach.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in building and managing safety programs, ideally within the veterinary or healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Experience in psychosocial risk assessment and management.
- Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse teams.
- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field are highly desirable.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Sydney.
