 Workplace Health & Safety Advisor

 

Palm Lake Group has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Workplace Health & Safety Advisor to join our team Full time and be based out of our head office in Southport, on the Gold Coast. 

The primary purpose of this position is to promote the vision of safety, health, productivity and well-being of workers across our portfolio of resorts. The WHS Advisor will provide WHS expertise, guidance and reporting to management and ensure compliance with all relevant legislative (Federal & State) responsibilities and obligations are maintained. The WHS Advisor will report to Palm Lakes Executive Manager of People & Operations and focus on the continual development and improvement of the safety culture and performance within our communities.

Please note; that travel within Qld, NSW and VIC will be required to maintain safety standards,  conduct inspections, and provide training and support to our portfolio of resorts.

Responsibilities:-

  • Coordinate WHS activities across Palm Lake Resort community locations and contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety strategies.
  • Management of Safety Management Systems;
  • Responding to incidents and conducting investigations;
  • Conducting risk assessments and monitor controls for effectiveness;
  • Assist and conduct WHS Audit processes;
  • Provide training and support to operations teams ;
  • Develop and manage relationships with employees and subcontractors;
  • Ensure legislation is adhered to;
  • Engage with WHS inspectors.

Skills & Experience:-

  • Hold a tertiary qualification as a WHS Advisor or related field;
  • 3 years’ experience as a WHS Advisor;
  • Proven ability to understand, apply and communicate complex work health and safety processes and requirements;
  • Experience with RV or MHE Legislation Act is advantageous; 
  • Experience with facilitating WHS audits;
  • White Card;
  • Ability to travel as required, with a current C class licence.
