ABOUT THE ROLE

This generalist role covers all aspects of work health & safety, from the creative to the compliance. Our workforce covers three different industries - early learning, healthcare and community services - making it a unique organisation with plenty of hands-on development opportunities.

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, you will provide leadership, support and advice across WHS risk management, emergency management, incident investigation and support, injury management and worker's compensation, training, vaccination administration, and monitoring of compliance to internal policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

You will have the opportunity to design, develop and implement Ngala’s WHS strategy and ‘fit-for-purpose’ WHS framework and system, including a framework for psychosocial hazard management and prevention. This will include the review of existing procedures and processes and implementation of improvements through consultation with key stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a team player, who is creative, resourceful and proactive. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will support you in engaging with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation, helping to drive positive safety conversations and lead a maturing safety culture.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Tertiary level qualifications in relevant discipline and/or significant experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a work health and safety role.
  • Experience in injury management including management of Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • A strong understanding of legislation relating to work health and safety, and injury management.
  • Experience with the design, development and implementation of WHS strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate must provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).
