Wellbeing Manager

 

  • $143, 798 per annum + superannuation
  • Full Time, Ongoing position
  • Geelong (Hybrid working model)

Purpose

The Wellbeing Manager is responsible for ensuring that we have a sound organisational commitment to the wellbeing of our people in order to enable them to thrive and effectively deliver on the programs of work that WorkSafe Victoria is committed to. This role is an important role of influence, setting a vision for the future and inspiring others to achieve it, through inspirational leadership, effecting cultural change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy for wellbeing and lead the implementation plan for annual activities, to achieve the desired wellbeing objectives for WorkSafe.
  • Proactively promote and facilitate the delivery of the wellbeing offerings, for WorkSafe employees and teams, working in collaboration with colleagues in HSW and across P&C, stakeholders and suppliers to achieve objectives.
  • Champion WorkSafe’s approach and strategic direction to Wellbeing, internally and externally though participation in various forums such as interdepartmental committees and liaise with external stakeholders, such as union representatives as required.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and support direct reports, empowering them to support the business, through tailored and nuanced wellbeing solutions.
  • Accountable for WorkSafe’s Wellbeing budget, and leading the associated administrative support required, to implement wellbeing initiatives.
  • Management and oversight of WorkSafe wellbeing suppliers, including the Employee Assistance Program; building a positive and collaborative relationship with suppliers, providing nuanced, tailored EAP/wellbeing solutions, and the procurement and tendering process, to efficiently and effectively renegotiate contracts, as required.
  • Prepare quality reports, suitable for Executive and Board level and for committees to promote the understanding of wellbeing and its role in influencing organisational culture, in order to achieve the strategy of WorkSafe Victoria.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A proven ability to lead projects and articulate well designed and planned initiatives, guiding direct and indirect reports, influencing their wellbeing and producing outcomes consistent with intended plans.
  • Experience designing an effective wellbeing framework incorporating key elements of need in the operational work environment, such as mental wellbeing, physical ability and adaptation, financial security, social connection, community engagement and spirituality where appropriate.
  • Capability to provide quality reports which communicate wellbeing issues pertaining to the culture, operation and strategy, contributing to the planning and decision making processes for People and Culture and within other business units.
  • Experience to apply commercial thinking and internal marketing within a professional environment, taking into account considerations which influence delivery, timing, participation and engagement by leaders and their people in wellbeing programs of work.
  • Health skillset, to influence people leaders at all levels by skilfully applying health knowledge to advise business operations to enable people to thrive in a work environment, increasing engagement, commitment to work, positively influencing work factors, improving talent retention and attraction.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and persuasion skills to influence decision makers and gain their support in the implementation of organisational wellbeing initiatives
  • Leadership experience, with a strong reputation of being a professional leader, consistently displaying integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
  • Ability to work autonomously and actively collaborate with peers and suppliers for the development, delivery and implementation of learning initiatives and team based wellbeing projects.
  • Evidence of engagement in health and wellbeing initiatives through active participation in professional networking, associations, research forums and sharing occupational wellbeing literature and insights.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary health qualification and relevant experience in an occupational health role.
