HR Partners is excited to be partnering with a leading organisation in the search for a new Work, Health and Safety Business Partner.

You will engage both in the office and on-site, focusing on developing and implementing health and safety processes and initiatives.
In this position, you will work closely with various operational teams, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the effective adoption of a new safety management system. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to operational teams to cultivate a positive safety culture.
- Coach and mentor employees and leaders to enhance their understanding and compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Lead by example to promote a proactive safety mindset throughout the organisation.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all operations adhere to the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across all operational teams to identify hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Support incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Training & Development
- Design and deliver training programs for operational teams focused on safety compliance, hazard identification, and risk management.
- Identify training needs and help develop competency frameworks to ensure ongoing safety awareness among employees.
- Provide guidance on fatigue management, safety-critical communication, and emergency response procedures.
Operational Support
- Collaborate closely with various teams to offer daily support on safety-related issues.
- Assist teams in developing and implementing work instructions and processes.
- Support incident reporting and tracking within company safety management systems, ensuring compliance with business and legal reporting requirements.
Regulatory Engagement & Reporting
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and prepare for audits and inspections.
- Prepare and submit safety reports and updates to the National Health and Safety Manager and senior leadership.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety processes, systems, and compliance across the organisation.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to the development of strategic safety plans and projects.
- Stay informed about relevant legislative changes and industry best practices to ensure company remains a leader in safety management.
Qualifications, Certificates & Licences
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline (Essential)
- Additional qualifications in risk management, safety auditing, or environmental management (Desirable)
- Proven experience in high-risk operational environments, including coaching, mentoring, and influencing teams.
- Demonstrated track record in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of safety management systems and relevant legislation, including the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act etc
- Familiarity with risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies in operational environments.
